Definition of Godvertising :.

(gŏd'vər-tī'zĭng)

  1. 1. (n.) Any state sanctioned public display intended to sell the idea of a supreme or omnipresent being.

Origins: The act of Godvertising likely comes from the early Puritan era. The term itself comes from God and His hand in advertising.

Example: The phrase, "In God We Trust", printed on American currency, the Ten Commandments displayed in state institutions, and the display of crèches at village halls at Christmas time all show the Godvertising passed down from our forefathers.
