- a. (n.) One of many prime numbers.
2. ad-lab (ād'lāb)
- a. (v.) To invent the results of an experiment when one knows the results they got weren't exactly what they're supposed to be.
Example: We ad-labbed the chemistry experiment so the resulting graph would be a straight line.
3. addadictomy (ăd'ə-dĭk'tə-my)
- a. (n.) The medical procedure for changing a patient's sex from female to male.
4. aeropalmics (âr-o-päm-ĭks)
- a. (n.) The study of wind resistance conducted by holding a cupped hand out the car window.
5. automagically (ô'tə-măj'ĭ'kăl-lē)
- a. (adv.) Automatically by a process that one does not understand or cannot be bothered to explain to anyone else.
Example: Alex automagically fixed Sandra's computer for her.
6. blasphometer (blăs'fə-mē'tər)
- a. (n.) A meter used to measure how blasphemous a just-uttered statement was. It is generally created by holding one's arms in front of oneself with elbows bent at right angles so that the left hand rests on top of the right elbow, and the right hand is directly below the left elbow. The left hand is then raised in an arc, like the needle on a speedometer, to indicate the severity of the blasphemy just uttered.
7. bobamajiggarology (bŏb'ə-mə-jĭg'ər-ŏl'ə-jē)
- a. (n.) The study of bobamajiggars.
8. canoid (kā'noid')
- a. (n.) A dog-like robot.
Example: Sony developed the canoid, AIBO.
9. configurate (cŏn-fĭg'yər-āt')
- a. (v.) To configure.
10. decidribel (dĕs'ə-drĭ'bəl)
- a. (n.) A unit used to measure the stupidity of a speech.
11. disgreenimation (dĭs-grēn'ə-mā'shən)
- a. (n.) Requiring meticulous analysis to verify the environmental credentials of "green" products or services, while not applying the same or greater level of rigor in assessing the environmental impact of all other products or services.
- b. (n.) Expecting green technologies to compete on an uneven playing field.
Example: I sense a bit of disgreenimation in that infrastructure for electricity from conventional sources was funded by the state via the tax system, solar photovoltaic/hot water systems are installed at the expense of householders who choose to install them, only sometimes with partial subsidy. - c. (n.) Using economic or social arguments in isolation to justify a particular action which has a range of negative environmental consequences.
Example: Senator John Doe expressed extreme disgreenimation when he told voters that, "Building this gas-powered plastic refinery plant creates jobs and earns export revenue."
12. dopeler effect (dōp'lər ĭ-fĕkt')
- a. (n.) The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
- b. (n.) The tendancy of ideas to seem smarter immidiately before you say them, and thus branding you an idiot.
13. dribel (drĭ'bəl)
- a. (n.) A unit used to express relative difference in power or intensity between two stupid or childish speeches, often relating to drunken speech.
Example: He's so drunk he must be talking at about 54 dribels! No wonder you can't understand him one bit.
14. Einstoned (īn'stōnd)
- a. (v.tr.) Imbibing to the point where one thinks they have figured out the theory of relativity.
15. eyelidology (ī-lĭd-ŏl'ə-jē)
- a. (n.) The study of one's own eyelids. Sometimes used as an excuse for sleeping in class.
16. femaelstrom (fē-māl'strəm)
- a. (n.) An excessively tumultuous maelstrom, only comparable to stormy situations women deal with or possibly cause.
17. fibliography (fĭb'lē-ŏg'rə-fē)
- a. (n.) The sources one cites on a research paper for which one did no research at all.
- b. (n.) fĭb'lē-ŏg'rə-fē. Sources cited that you, either did not use, or used once, erroneously, because the source never actually pertained to your paper at all.
18. firmth (fûrmth)
- a. (n.) The state or level of firmness of an object. Normally used when squeezing fruit or other semi-squishy objects.
19. Frito Laylien (frē'tō lā'lē-ən)
- a. (n.) Any green potato chip believed to have traveled from a far off galaxy and invaded a bag of earthling potato chips. Occasionally found to travel in groups.
20. ginormous (jī-nôr'məs)
- a. (adj.) Used to describe something so large that it is additively gigantic and enormous.
Example: "Millicent, that 32 pound cat of yours is ginormous!" "That's freakin' huge! That's ginormous!"
21. Googru (gü-grü)
- a. (n.) One who is considered an oracle or seer purely because they are good at getting answers from Google(tm), which is sometimes considered their deity.
Example: Let us travel to the village Googru to received their advice on fixing our television. The Googles have not been good to us lately.
22. GPX (gē-pē-ĕks)
- a. (acro.) Global Positioning eX system; the habit of informing people where they've seen one's ex-lover. Women in particular seem to think seeing their significant other's ex is a reason in itself of contacting them. In this way one can track their ex's movement without actually spotting them.
23. grippage (grĭp'ĭj)
- a. (n.) The measure of an object's grip.
24. gription (grĭp'shən)
- a. (n.) Having the quality of grippage; an amount of grip.
Example: Tires have gription instead of traction when they are getting a little bald. - b. (n.) The amount of traction or gripping force a material has against a surface or object with an adequate coefficient of friction.
25. guesstimate (gĕs'tə-mĭt')
- a. (n.) A very basic guess on the solution to something.
- b. (v.) gĕs'tə-māt'. To estimate by guessing.
Example: I don't feel like counting all these papers. I'll just guesstimate that there's about forty.
